INTENSIVE COURSE  "GIVE US A CUT!" //
the course is held in Florence at Fabula Aurea .

This 'short' course offers a general overview of the possible processing of gems.
After an introduction on the use of machinery according to the different processes, we will start working semiprecious materials to create three or four cabochon cuts, both free and adapting it to a bezel. Round, square, rectangular and drop shape cuts will then be made.
Materials: marble, chalcedony, rhodonite, rock crystal etc ...  We will continue to see how a faceted gem is made. Working on transparent materials, gems with different hardness will be worked, creating two of the following cuts: round brilliant, stepped rectangular “emerald cut”, antique square or square emerald. Used materials:  natural quartz, synthetic amethyst, synthetic corundum.  A totally stone ring will be made, in a single piece, using raw Italian material such as marble, chalcedony, rhodonite.

During the course, students will be given space to cut and make a stone according to their own design .
