Why do we keep things like a pairless earring, a train ticket, empty matchboxes?

Because these aren't just objects, these are memories.

They protect us from oblivion. They give us comfort.

And if we combine them with other elements and transform them into personal objects and ornaments, they become amulets and talismans.

Because deep down we are storytellers and everyone tells a story.

The things you collect, the shells collected, the small objects found, the sentences written on sheets of paper, the images or colored stones, contain a meaning.

A workshop where everyone can create a jewel with a meaning.

WHAT WE WILL DO //

The workshop will take place by introducing the history and meaning of some symbols common to many cultural traditions and which preserve the primitive energy of the archetype; it will then continue with the demonstration of some examples of amulets and talismans, the methods of construction and the choice of materials.

Mixed goldsmith techniques will be used such as: fretwork, texturing, riveting, deep drawing, welding, setting, polishing, satin finishing, assembly, threading, etc.

 

We're going to focus on ways that joining can actually convey your idea rather than just being a way to piece things together.

Each participant will create his own amulet by inserting specific and significant elements for his own personal story using the material available in the laboratory.

There is the possibility of bringing materials to integrate into the jewel (stones, shells, photos, stones, seeds, sticks etc etc ...)
